Iyochiku crafts are one of the traditional crafts of Ehime. Baskets (baskets) made using high-quality bamboo from Shikoku are made using the “yachara knitting” technique, a unique knitting method handed down in Matsuyama, and are characterized by the fact that the more you use them, the more tasteful they become. The venue is the Yamatoya Hotel which is close to the Dogo Onsen main building and is said to have been the model for the Ghibli film “Spirited Away.” In a private Japanese restaurant in a long-established ryokan founded in Keio 4 (Meiji 1), you will learn how to make flower baskets with professional bamboo craftsmen. If you have time after the class, You can see around the Japanese traditional Noh stage in the hotel, (It is the perfect location for taking an amazing photo!)
Finally, you can enjoy a drink in the 1st-floor lounge in this hotel!
We are waiting for your challenge!
