The ancient Iwami Kagura is a traditional performing art, a dance offered to the gods of nature for bountiful harvests and fishing. Viewing the night Kagura will be a solemn and precious experience. The workshops of the "masters" who support Kagura are also must-see.
Course Content
- [Private Tour] A tourism association staff member and interpreter will accompany you in a private vehicle to guide you through the tour.
- [Night Kagura Viewing]
The main deity enshrined at Oomatsuriamenoiwatohiko Shrine (commonly known as Sanku Shrine) in Aioi-cho, Hamada City, is Amanotajikara-ono-mikoto. You will watch two Iwami Kagura performances at the Sanku Shrine. After viewing, you can take commemorative photos with the dancers.
This is a traditional Japanese performing art scheduled to be performed at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
- [Dinner Included]
While watching Iwami Kagura, you will enjoy the "OROCHI Bento," a special bento box modeled after the Great Serpent. Sake, believed to bring divine blessings, will also be provided.
- [Kagura Workshops] You can observe the production process of each part used in Iwami Kagura, such as Kagura masks, costumes with luxurious embroidery and decorations, and snake bodies. Interaction with the craftsmen is possible. Some items are available for purchase.
- [Kakurega Yukari]
Grand opening in April 2024
A high-class Japanese-style inn with a refined, calm atmosphere.
You can choose and use yukata within the inn. Relax in a Japanese-Western style room with an outdoor bath.
